These general terms and conditions apply to all competitions, promotions, and giveaways conducted by Novus Media and its sub-brands. By participating in any competition, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following rules.

Eligibility
- Age Requirement: Competitions are open to residents of South Africa aged 18 years and older. Any entrants under the age of 18 must have the consent of a parent or guardian.
- Exclusions: Employees of Novus Media, their immediate families, and associated agencies are not eligible to enter.
Entry Requirements
- Entry Restrictions: Participants may only enter each competition once, unless otherwise stated in the competition-specific terms.
- Duplicate Entries: Multiple entries by the same individual (including automated or bulk entries) will result in disqualification.
- How to Enter: Each competition may have specific entry instructions that must be followed. Failure to adhere to these instructions will result in disqualification.
Competition Period
- Each competition has specific start and end dates, as detailed in the competition announcement. Entries received after the closing date will not be considered.
- Novus Media reserves the right to modify the competition period at its discretion.
Prizes
- Non-Transferable: Prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash unless otherwise specified.
- Substitution: Novus Media reserves the right to substitute any prize with another of equal or greater value if the advertised prize is not available.
- Tax Liability: Winners are responsible for any tax implications related to winning a prize.
Winner Selection and Notification
- Selection Process: Winners will be selected either through a random draw or based on a predefined judging criterion. The selection process will be detailed in the competition-specific terms.
- Notification: Winners will be notified via email or phone within 7 days of the competition’s closing date. If a winner cannot be contacted or does not respond within 72 hours, a new winner may be selected.
- Public Announcement: Novus Media reserves the right to announce the winner’s name on its platforms unless otherwise requested by the winner.
Disqualification
- Participants who fail to comply with these terms, provide false information, or use unethical methods to participate will be disqualified.
- Novus Media reserves the right to remove or disqualify any entry deemed inappropriate, offensive, or not in line with our values.
Liability
- No Liability for Technical Issues: Novus Media will not be liable for any technical issues, disruptions, or malfunctions that affect competition participation.
- Indemnification: By participating, entrants agree to indemnify and hold harmless Novus Media, its subsidiaries, and affiliates from any liability, loss, or damage resulting from participation or the acceptance of any prize.
Privacy and Data Usage
- Data Collection: By entering the competition, participants agree to their personal data being used for the purpose of administering the competition.
- Data Use: Contact information will be used to communicate with entrants regarding competition details, including notification of winners. Personal data will be treated in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
Publicity
- By entering, participants agree that Novus Media may use their name, likeness, and any submitted content for promotional purposes without further compensation, unless prohibited by law.
- Winners may be required to participate in promotional activities related to the competition.
Rights Reserved by Novus Media
- Competition Cancellation: Novus Media reserves the right to cancel, modify, or suspend any competition at any time without notice due to unforeseen circumstances.
- Amendments: Novus Media may amend these terms at any time, and participants are encouraged to review the terms regularly.
Specific Competition Terms
- Each competition may have additional specific terms and conditions that are detailed on the relevant competition page. These specific terms are in addition to these general terms and may override any conflicting points outlined here.
Governing Law
- These terms and conditions are governed by and shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of South Africa. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African courts.
