Savory flavoured pork mince: A must-try curry dish served with vetkoek or rice

This recipe features spiced pork mince cooked with curry, served with rice or in vetkoek, enhancing traditional flavors.

Warm up with flavoured pork mince in curry and rice, or in a traditional vetkoek.

Ingredients:

1 onion;

15ml crushed garlic;

1kg MALU Pork mince;

60ml medium curry powder;

60ml chutney or apricot jam;

25ml turmeric;

20ml white vinegar;

400g canned veggies in brine (discard the brine); and

2 bay leaves.

Method:

1. Over medium heat, fry the onion and garlic until light brown.

2. Add the pork mince and fry until cooked.

3. Add the curry powder, chutney, turmeric and vinegar, mix through and allow to cook for five minutes.

4. Add the canned veggies, mix through.

5. Add the bay leaves and close the lid. Turn off the heat and allow to rest 10 to 15 minutes.

6. Serve with rice or in a traditional South African vetkoek.
